POPULAR RANGE ROVER MODELS
FULL SIZE
The Range Rover’s flagship model Land Rover is the epitome of luxury combined with rugged off-road capability. However, several common problems have been identified in our auto shop over the years. Air suspension failures are quite common, resulting in the vehicle unexpectedly lowering. Electrical glitches, including touchscreen malfunctions and unresponsive infotainment systems, come up occasionally. There have also been issues with the timing chain, leading to a rattling noise and potentially serious engine problems. Moreover, oil leaks from areas like the oil pan or front timing cover are prevalent in older models.
SPORT
The Range Rover Sport, a dynamic iteration of the classic, tends to show specific challenges. Besides the air suspension issues common to its larger sibling, the Sport has seen problems with its supercharged engines, including coolant leaks from the thermostat or water pump. Brake wear is faster, particularly in models with larger wheels and sporty driving habits. The EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) cooler fails occasionally, leading to performance issues and increased emissions.
VELAR
The sleek Velar, while relatively newer, has its concerns. Infotainment glitches, particularly with the dual-screen setup, have been reported. Some owners have experienced issues with the vehicle’s advanced driver assistance systems, such as false warnings or malfunctions. We’ve also noticed concerns with the automatic transmission, especially rough or delayed shifting, requiring software updates or even hardware interventions.
EVOQUE
The compact Evoque, blending city-friendly dimensions with Range Rover luxury, presents unique challenges. Turbocharger issues, leading to decreased power and performance, have been diagnosed. In earlier models, water ingress can affect the electrical systems and cabin comfort. The exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve, similar to the Sport, is known to clog or fail, impacting engine performance.
